On arrival at Ho Chi Minh City international airport. You will be greeted by representative airport staff at the air bridge. In the evening, experience the night life of Saigon the way locals do, all from the back of a vintage Vespa scooter (18:00 hrs – 22:00 hrs) The tour will start with a ride to part Chinatown and then heading to District 4 through busy streets and alleys to see the night life of locals and enjoy street sea-food and cold drinks, places that foreigners would hardly venture to. Leave district 4 for district 3 through downtown district 1 to a famous Banh Xeo shop to enjoy the specialty of Saigon, and southern food with the locals. Then continue to a hidden Vietnamese-style coffee shop to have a taste of Vietnamese music. Afterward venture to a lively bar to enjoy drinks along with live music.

Pick-up will be provided at the hotel and transfer to the city pier for a full day tour by speed boat to the Mekong Delta. You’ll experience the old-world river life of the Mekong, and enjoy a lesser-seen glimpse into rural Vietnam as it trundles along a slow tempo, as it has done for centuries. Key cultural stops include a Cao Dai Temple, a riverside market, and a pagoda, as well as evocative farmlands and local pottery workshops.

There will surely be countless photo opportunities of the idyllic scenery and local people as you cruise past buffaloes ploughing fields, fruit orchards and rice paddies. A visit to a family homestead will give you more insight into the life of local people. As the boat operates different routes in the Mekong Delta depending on water conditions, it promises unique experience for guests on each of its departure.

In the morning, have an orientation tour of the city’s historical centre with the landmarks reflecting its colonial past: the Notre Dame Cathedral inaugurated in 1880 which became the spiritual and cultural crucible of the French presence in the Orient; the Post office designed by Gustav Eiffel and resembling a grand railway station and have a photo stop at the former Presidential Palace. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by local guide and transferred to hotel in Hoi An

Explore the roads less travelled in Hoi An. This countryside tour of Hoi An will give you real insight to local life. Setting off from Café Zoom in Hoi An, we ride over the bridge to Cam Kim island and along the riverside into the beautiful rural countryside. First stops include an Ancestral House and a traditional boatbuilders yard before we set off to explore the sleepy island villages. Zig-zag through the breathtaking scenery of rice paddies & farmland and enjoy the cooling breeze.

Next, learn from friendly local families the art of mat weaving, farming, and how to make (and eat) the perfect Banh Dap rice crackers. Meeting local families is a must-do to see the real way of life in Vietnam. After snacking on rice crackers, visit a local café to fuel up on local drip-coffee & learn the art of coffee roasting.

Then gear up for an adrenalin pumping 300-meter bamboo bridge river crossing. We make our way to the coast at the Thu Bon river mouth, along roads lined with Casuarina Pine & Cashew Nut Trees.

Finally, it’s up high and over the new bridge offering spectacular panoramic views of Hoi An, which takes us to the water coconut palm fringed Cam Thanh and then on to a local lunch in a restaurant at a picturesque location (seasonal) . This countryside tour of Hoi An then concludes with a free drop-off at your hotel.

Recommended optional day excursions: My Son Sanctuary – A Unesco World Heritage Site My Son, located 69 km southwest of Danang, was an imperial city during the Cham dynasties, between the 4th and 12th centuries. My Son Sanctuary is a large complex of religious relics that comprises more than 70 architectural works. They include temples and towers that connect to each other with complicated red brick designs. The main component of the Cham architectural design is the tower, built to reflect the divinity of the king. On the way back, stop for a short visit to the Sa Huynh Champa Culture Museum in Tra Kieu.

Jeep Tour To Former War Sites Around Da Nang Along the coast line in warm and fresh air, you will be passing the Marble Mountains Airbase that was once a US Marine base. Visit the Military Museum in the centre of Danang City with many different US weapons and military equipment captured during the war. Drive along the Han River and pass over Thuan Phuoc suspension bridge, crossing the estuary with scenic views of the fishing villages, Danang Bay, Son Tra Peninsula, etc.

Enjoy a photo stop at the fishing village, and then drive up Son Tra Peninsular called the Monkey Mountain by the American GIs. The steep ride along zig zag paths culminates in breathtaking views of jungles, waterfalls, mountains and beaches.

After a break with photo opportunities on the summit and at a former US helicopter landing zone, drive downhill back to the hotel along coconut-palm flanked waterways.
